Freelance Writing Mamas is a blog dedicated to helping fellow freelance writers find and maintain clients. Mothers Terez Howard and Jael Strong share real life, trial-and-error advice as well as honest observations.
I’ve been writing professionally for about 10 years. Most of that time was spent writing and editing at newspapers, including The Weirton Daily Times, The Wheeling Intelligencer and The Herald-Star. I’ve also written for the online magazines USARiseUp and Going-Natural.
Right now, I’m building my freelance writing clientele list at my home office in Ohio. I’m the wife of a violinist stuck in a schoolteacher’s body and the mother of a 3-year-old girl going on 30.
Writing is my sounding board for the truth. What you don’t know about me is I’m obsessed with Sisterlocks.
I hold a bachelor of arts in English and a minor in music performance. I have spent the past eight years indulging in various aspects of my chosen field. Over the past few years I have taught high school English, worked as a proofreader, and taken the opportunity to write as often as possible. I love writing both non-fiction and fiction, but I always thrive when taking a creative approach.
Currently, I work both as a freelance musician and a freelance writer. My days are spent performing, teaching, and writing. Of course, my greatest satisfaction comes from spending time with my gregarious thirteen year old son!
